The new home of BBC Scotland, in Glasgow on the south bank of the River Clyde, at Prince's Dock. £72m project designed by David Chipperfield Architects,but Keppie Architects took control in late 2004. Opened 20th Sept., 2007. Incorporates three key elements - digital broadcasting studios, offices and substantial public areas. New technology enables a digital system integrating television, radio and online. The Centre features the UK's most advanced broadcast studios and production facilities. The main studio, Studio A, is the biggest TV studio in Scotland and the second largest in Britain. It features a hi-tech 'hover pad' audience seating system which can be towed in and out of the studio when required.
