This original 15th century house is largely unaltered since the 1550's when the Mosman family, Goldsmiths to Mary Queen of Scots, remodelled the house. There is no actual evidence that John Knox, leader of the Scottish Reformation and founder of the Presbyterian Church, lived here, and some historians today think this is unlikely although the name has never changed in the last 100 years or more. Today it houses the Scottish Story telling Centre.
