Areas and buildings of the old shipyard in Elsinore have turned into The Culture Yard and the underground Danish Maritime Museum (empty area to the right) on the waterfront in Elsinore, Denmark. On the edge of the Sound restored exciting architecture has turned old shipyard buildings and new modern glass and metal structures into a modern culture centre in historic Elsinore.13,000 square metres of music, exhibitions, culture, and adventure. The Danish Maritime Museum (MS Museet for Søfart) neighbouring the Culture Yard (Kulturværftet) to the left and the Castle Kronborg out of the picture further to the right (The view to which was not allowed to be disturbed as Kronborg is on the UNESCO World Heritage List). The museum is built in and around the old dry dock from 1955 in a bold architectural mixture of a raw industrial expression in concrete and modern minimalism in steel, glass, and aluminium.
