Smoke from Gun Salute. Removal team- Some of the 8.000 volunteers participating in the dismantling of the Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red exhibit. 888,246 ceramic poppies, each representing a British fatality during the First World War. 5 August - 11 November 2014, with an extension granted of several days due to public interest. Created by ceramic artist Paul Cummins, with setting by stage designer Tom Piper, 888,246 ceramic poppies progressively filled the Tower's famous moat.
