Sir Charles Tupper, 1st Baronet, 1821 – 1915. Canadian father of Confederation, Premier of Nova Scotia from 1864 to 1867, he led Nova Scotia into Confederation. He went on to serve as the sixth Prime Minister of Canada. From The Strand Magazine, published January to June, 1894.
