Blue Ridge departed its forward-deployed home of Yokosuka, Japan on Mar 2. for a spring deployment to further positive relations with regional partners, including port visits to the Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Malays, Indonesia and Thailand. Blue Ridge is commanded by Capt. Rudy Lupton and serves under Commander, Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) 7/Task Force (CTF) 76, the Navy's only forward deployed amphibious force. Blue Ridge is the flagship for Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet.
