Seat of the PCI (Italian Communist Party) since 1947 and later of the Partito dei Democratici di Sinistra until 1999, the Bottegone was deeply linked to Italian politics for decades. Also simply known as "Palazzo delle Botteghe Oscure", the name "Botteghe Oscure" of the road was also generally employed to mean "the PCI". NO RELEASE.
