The only surviving Hansa building in England, the Hanseatic Warehouse in St Margaret's Lane was constructed in 1475 after the Treaty of Utrecht allowed Hansa to establish a trading depot in Lynn and it was used until 1751. It was renovated in 1971 and converted into offices by Norfolk County Council including Lynn's registry office.
