Queensferry, Edinburgh, Scotland, 11th, November, 2016. The 3 Forth Bridges taken from the middle, original Road Bridge. The Railway Bridge is a World Heritage site These photos are of the 2nd Road bridge which is nearing completion with the last segment of the northerly section being winched into position from the pontoon floating below. The blue, wheeled, assembly is the crane located on the structure that lifts pre-fabfricated bridge sections into place from a pontoon barge floating on the Forth. The bridge sections are manufactured on dry land near North Queensferry and ferried out when required. The Forth Crossing Act received Royal Assent in January 2011, and construction began in September 2011. The Queensferry Crossing is being constructed as a cable-stayed bridge, with an overall length of 1.7 miles (2.7 km)
