Guildford Cathedral dominates the town from its imposing position on Stag Hill so named because the Kings of England used to hunt here. Consecrated in 1961 it was designed by Edward Maufe. The Angel on the top of the tower was given in memory of Reginald Adgey-Edgar of the Intelligence Corps, it doubles up as a mobile phone mast for Orange.
