Attractive display of pansies in black wrought iron window box on redbrick wall at the Ferrers Art and Craft Centre. Originally a Georgian stable block, built in the 18th century by the 5th Earl of Ferrers, with courtyard, coach houses, a granary and accommodation. The buildings have now been restored and converted into an arts and crafts centre containing a number of artists studios, workshops and galleries and a teashop around a central courtyard. The craft centre lies within the Staunton Harold Estate, which stands on land originally given by William the Conqueror to Henry de Ferraris in the 11th century, a name which later became anglicised as "Ferrers".
