Mr. Sharansky, former Dissident, Human Rights activist and Politician, is the chairman of the Adelson Institute of Strategic Studies in the Shalem Center in Jerusalem. Prof. Robert (Johnny) Aumann is co-winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics for his work on conflict and cooperation through game-theory analysis. Both participated in Adelson Institute's December 2008 Conference: "“Twenty First Century Wars: Counterinsurgency and the Challenge of Global Terrorism.” More than two hundred members of the military, judiciary, media and political establishment attended the conference. Attendees included Lt. Col. John Nagl of the Center for a New American Security, co-author of the U.S. Army/USMC Counterinsurgency Field Manual, Middle East scholar Prof. Bernard Lewis, Renown Strategist Edward Luttwak.
