Mycenae, Argolis, Peloponnese, Greece. Grave Circle A, dating from the 16th century BC, within the walls of the city citadel. When Heinrich Schliemann excavated the circle in 1876 he found 6 shaft graves which contained nineteen bodies. Amongst the objects found were five golden death masks. Mycenae is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
