Mourners carry the body of 18-year-old Hadeel al-Hashlamon, who was shot and kileld by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank city of Hebron. In less than 24 hours, the Israeli army shot and killed two Palestinians. On September 22, 2015, the Israeli army claimed that 21-year-old Diyaa Abdul-Halim Talahmah was killed when a hand-made grenade exploded in his hands during clashes with Israeli forces in the village of Khursa, south of Hebron. However, there were contradictory reports from both Palestinian and Israeli sources and photos of the youth’s body showed that he had been shot. That same day, hours later, an 18-year-old girl, Hadeel al-Hashlamon was killed by Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint in the West Bank city of Hebron. Soldiers claimed the girl was attempting to stab a soldier, though no soldiers were injured during the alleged stabbing attack. Tensions have remained high since last week, when Israeli soldiers repeatedly stormed the Al Aqsa Compound in Eastern Jerusalem and assaulted Palestinian worshipers, all the while allowing extremist Jewish Israeli settlers to tour the compound.
