Tanjun Puting Nationa Park in the Indonesian province of Kalimantan on Borneo Island is a sanctuary for the wild Bornean orangutans (Pongo pygmaeus) of the area. The park is accessible from the Sekonyer River, a tributary of the Kumai River. The animals, an endangered species can be seen moving through the tropical peat swamg forest, in the Pandanus palms along the river or at one of several feeding stations located throughout the park.
