Er ist an den von vorne gesehen zwei schwarzen Streifen auf der oberen Brust zu erkennen, während der sehr ähnliche Humboldtpinguin nur einen Bruststreifen hat.| With a body size of ca. 73 cm the Magellanic penguin (Spheniscus magellanicus) belongs to the medium sized penguin species. The two black pectoral bands are characteristic and help to distinguish it from the very similar Humboldt penguin, which has only one such band.
