Master Thatcher James Caro uses thatching straw to repair the roof of Anne Hathaway's (Shakespeare's mother) cottage in the small Warwickshire town of Stratford-upon-Avon. He is using the Thatcher's tool called a "Leggett" to make sure that the straw is tightly fitted to make the roof waterproof. The thatching will take 12-weeks to complete, and is work undertaken once every 30-years. The next time that the repairs will take place is due to be 2038.
