Lt. Col. (ret). John Nagl, of the Center for a New American Security, co-author of the U.S. Army/USMC Counterinsurgency Field Manual, expert on counterinsurgency and author of the influential "Learning to eat Soup with a Knife: Counterinsurgency Lessons from Malaya and Vietnam". Nagl Participated at the Dec. 2008 Conference organized by the Adelson Institute for Strategic Studies at the Shalem Center, Jerusalem. The Conference, “Twenty First Century Wars: Counterinsurgency and the Challenge of Global Terrorism,” took place in Tel-Aviv's Sheraton Plaza Hotel. More than two hundred members of the military, judiciary, media and political establishment attended the conference.
