LibDem mayoral candidate Brian Paddick, and London Assembly Members Caroline Pidgeon, Val Shawcross (Transport Committee Chair), Jenny Jones and Andrew Boff (Mayor's special advisor on cycling) were among the 2000 or so cyclists who gathered just after rush hour for a flashride across Blackfriars Bridge and back down to Transport for London's HQ (TfL) opposite Southwark tube station. The event was organised by the London Cycling Campaign to respond to TfL's plan for remodeling the crossroad outside Blackfriars Station which is currently being rebuilt. The campaign assessment is that the new design for the crossroad puts cyclists to a disadvantage and will endanger lives.
