Italy Piedmont Verbania Pallanza, Villa San Remigio. Villa San Remigio is situated in the most beautiful location in the middle of Lake Maggiore, the Castagnola promontory that borders the northern gulf and the Borromean Islands and where the view encompasses the entire lake from north to south. By size, location, historical importance is perhaps the most important villa on Lake Maggiore. It was built in 1800 to crown the romantic love between the Marquis Silvio della Valle di Casanova, poet and musician and Sophie Browne, painter, wanted to build that here the "garden of dreams". Unfortunately the villa itself has fallen into public hands in the 60s and is inaccessible, hosting only a few bureaucratic offices. It 's been rather private part of the park that borders the lake and where the ancient chapel of the villa, overlooking the lake, and' was transformed into a modern house of great charm and originality.
