Shelves of human skulls in the crypt of Saint Leonards church in Hythe, Kent, England. The crypt houses the remains of around 4,000 bodies including around 2,000 skulls and 8,000 thigh bones. These are thought to be the remains of Saxons who were killed in a battle fought somewhere between Hythe and Folkstone in C.AD456. Picture taken on 4th June 2007 by permission of the crypt attendant.
