Mt Chacaltaya is probably Bolivia's highest profile example of disappearing glaciers Once famed as having the world's highest ski lift (the summit is at 5, 295m) the glacier has been vanishing rapidly in recent years. Compare this image taken in July 2007 with the summit section of Alamy Image B5BR01 (which was taken some 4 years earlier) and Image BF2Y8X, taken in October 2009.
