The Golan Heights were the setting for bitter battles between Israel and Syria in the Six Day war and the Yom Kippur war in 1967 and in 1973 respectively Today the Golan Heights is strewn with memorial sites commemorating events from the two wars many of which are restored to look the way they looked at the time some even with genuine weapons of the era In this particular site in Tel A Saki in the eastern region of the Golan Heights there is an old bunker with defense posts still equipped with weapons of the time like this heavy machine gun overlooking Syrian territory
