Frederiksborg Palace, Hillerød, Denmark. Built King Christian IV, ( now known as The Museum of National History.) The building replaced a previous castle erected by Frederick II, and is the largest Renaissance palace in Scandinavia. Located on three small islands in the middle of Palace Lake. Built 1602 -1620 by Dutch architects Hans and Lorents van Steenwinckel. (Liebig advert series Monuments de la Renaissance)
