The German Bundeswehr bought eight used airplanes, which are 24 years old, from the Dutch military. They are supposed to replace the 'Breguet Atlantic' reconaissance planes, which have been in use since 1966, starting next year according to the navy. The navy aviator squadron 3 is according to navy statements with about 2,000 soldiers and civil employees one of the largest flying formations of the German Bundeswehr.
