Devotees beat themselves and inflict wounds on their own bodies. This festival starts at the 1st day of Muharram and lasts for 10 days until 10th of Muharram. Muharram is the first month of Islamic calendar..The holy Ashura commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hossain (RA), grandson of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), will be observed in the country tomorrow with religious fervour and mourning over the tragedy...This day in the Hijri year 61, Hazrat Imam Hossain (RA), along with the members of his family and close relations, embraced martyrdom at the hands of Yazid's forces in the desert of Karbala to uphold the cause of Islam and the teachings of the great prophet.
