More information:

Vaso Zoomorfa Felino, Gato. Urna funeraria. Cerámica, Cultura Diaguita-Calchaquí. Santiago Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino. Vase or funerary, burial, urn shaped like an animal: a cat. No exact date given for this vessel: between the 8th and 16th centuries. It's from the Atacama and Coquimbo regions of northern Chile. Most decorated vessels used to characterize this culture were found as grave goods in Diaguita tombs. Frequent appearance of feline figures on Diaguita funerary vessels suggests that the people worshipped this animal. The Diaguita or Diaguita-Calchaquí were a group of South American indigenous peoples in the Southern Andes. They were succeeded by the Inkas in Chile and Argentina. http://www.precolombino.cl/
