Building Worker bronze statue celebrating the lives of workers killed on building sites Tower hill London. Sculptor Alan Wilson created the figure which sports a hard hat weighs 300kg and holds a spirit level. The statue was unveiled the 11th of October 2006. A total of 351 construction workers have died on sites since 2001. The inscription on the statue reads: ?For the thousands of building workers who have lost their lives at work we commemorate you. For the thousands of building workers who are today building and rebuilding towns and cities across the United Kingdom we celebrate you.?
