Bucharest, Romania - October 6, 2013: Adult woman holds a slogan placard that reads "Resignation! President and Government lead our country into the underworld" during the population uprising against the cyanide gold extraction in the Europe's largest open-pit gold mine planned to be opened in Rosia Montana heritage site, Alba County, Romania. If approved, the Canadian Rosia Montana Gold Corporation (RMGC) was planning to use 12,000 tonnes of cyanide (a dangerous substance) yearly to extract approx. 350 tonnes of gold and 1,500 tonnes of silver from the mines. Furthermore, the project would have destroyed three villages and four mountain tops.
