Bayko Building Set (Outfit 14) instructions, c. 1966. This British made construction toy was invented by Charles Plimpton and was made in Liverpool, England from 1934 to 1967. It was one of the first plastic children's toys - its name derived from Bakelite, the first commercial plastic. The manufacturing was taken over by Mecanno in the nineteen sixties. The instruction book cover illustration features models of typical 1930s-style houses - a vintage nineteen sixties item for editorial use only.
