If, like Barry McQueen, your musical interests extend to playing the bagpipes, fanfare horn and ukulele you really need to find somewhere to practice which won't disturb the neighbours. Walking through the spring flowers on the Shugborough estate in Staffordhsire fits the bill perfectly! His musical talents have been used on various official functions from providing the fanfare at the G8 summit in Birmingham to playing his bagpipes at footballer Robbie Fowler's wedding. Putting down his bagpipes doesn't usually mean a return to peace and quiet for Barry's other passion is his job as a town crier; he's the Host Crier for the Annual Blackpool Town Crier Championships, for Tameside Metropolitan Council - and most unusually - for Virgin Trains. If all that means a lot of shouting, then it was probably a relief to be appointed the official town crier for Boddingtons Brewery.
