Aug. 21, 2012 - Moab, Utah, U.S - 10,000 years ago hunter-gathers migrated to the area where current day Arches National Park is located. Roughly 2,000 years ago ancestral Puebloan and Fremont people began planting crops in the Four Corners region. President Herbert Hoover signed the legislation creating Arches National Monument onApril 12, 1929. Then on November 12, 1971 congress changed the status of Arches to a National Park.
