The mural represents an idealised version of the society which collapsed when the woman was in her teens. The mural is 18 metres long mural, by Max Lingner, and created between 1950 and 1952. It idealises various facets of life in the Socialist system of the German Democratic Republic (DDR). It adorns Detlev Rohwedder House (Detlev-Rohwedder-Haus) the headquarters of the German Finance Ministry.
