The main market square of Marrakesh (Djemaa El Fna), translated is the Place of the Dead where untill the 19th century criminals were beheaded. Each evening at dusk, this famous carnivalesque square is seamlessly transformed into the biggest, most entertaining outdoor café in the world. Snake charmers, storytellers, herbalists, hustlers and acrobats share the open space with row after row of numbered open-air "restaurants".
