A Swedish silver-mounted sabre à la mameluke,circa 1820 Heavy,single-edged,forge-welded Damascus steel blade with the Arabic maker's mark inlaid in gold on the reverse side.Silver quillons with relief ornamentation and a side chain,loose at the pommel.Ivory grip scales with silver ferrule and decorative rivets.Wooden scabbard covered with shagreen leather and with heavy silver mountings embossed with floral designs.There are silver rings attached to both suspension bars.The quillons,chape and locket bear Swedish silver hallmarks and are stamped "TALEN,Additional-Rights-Clearences-Not Available
