8 September 2005 - New York City, NY - Member state flags fly in front of the Secretariat building at the United Nations headquarters in New York, USA, 8 September 2005, for the first time since early this year. Construction work prevented the flags from being hoisted. The 4 by 6 feet flags are placed in English alphabetical order, from Afghanistan, at 48th Street, to Zimbabwe, by 42nd Street. They come down every day at 4pm and are stored in small boxes at the base of the poles. Photo Credit: David Brabyn/Sipa Press
