More information:

The roads north of Kuwait City were strewn with bombed and abandoned vehicles (mostly military, but also stolen civilian ones) and their contents as the Iraqi Army was attacked by coalition aircraft. Crates of weapons and ammunition were a common sight. After Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait in August 1990, coalition forces were quick to send their armies to both defend Saudi Arabia and to successfully oust the Iraqi forces by the end of February 1991.
