The War Standard of the White Horse: the standard was associated with the Saxons in the Dark Ages. It was also connected with Hengest and Horsa who, led the first Anglo-Saxon invaders into England in the mid-fifth century, following the end of Roman power in Britain around the year 410. The Saxons are said to have fought under a white horse standard (a claim recalled in the heraldic badge of the county of Kent). England.
