Historical carte de visites in sepia and black and white with a few Tintypes of personal family heritage in print from the "olden days" around 1900 or the end of the 19th century. This is a timely romantic collection of images of how things were before the advent of the auto, a time absent of noisy modern conveniences and a place when electronic invention was still just an idea, an era when you slept at night without the buzz of appliances or the shrill sound of the motorway and spilling light pollution to distract from the wonder of the stars.

To have a record of a time of something never again to be repeated should be appreciated. I look at the people in the photographs and their manner of dress and wonder if they had any of the same thoughts of the passage of time or even their time. Mrs Schumacher small cabinet card circa 1880 Would they have thought they themselves might be conjures of speculation and fascination about this passing of time, or that we would be looking and talking about them?
