Edith Johnson and baby Beryl, 1910, Edith Johnson was born Edith Willatt, in 1879. She married William Johnson, quite a few years her senior, and she was his second wife. They had one daughter, Beryl Edith Alice, born in 1910. This is a formal studio portrait of mother and baby, taken when Beryl was about eight months old, by W.E. Wright and Sons, who styled themselves "Portrait, Group and Architectural Photographers, with studios in Forest Gate, Ilford, Seven Kings, Romford, Leyton, Walthamstow and Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff, where this photograph was made.
