Richmond, North Yorkshire, UK. Monday 7th May, 2018. Organised by Richmond Duck Club, the Grand Duck Race takes place annually on May Day bank holiday and sees 2500 plastic ducks tipped into the River Swale from the Green Bridge from where they float downstream, over the waterfalls to the finishing line at the Batts near the Station Bridge. The money raised through ticket sales is used to benefit young people in the town of Richmond, North Yorkshire and its surrounding villages, and prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place as well as the last duck home.
