Dead Puya Raimondi (Puya sp) on the way of the Pastoruri glacier (nature reserve of Huascarán - Ancash - Peru). This Bromeliad can be found only on two Peruvian sites and on a Bolivian one. This species is notable as the largest species of bromeliad known, reaching 10 feet tall with a flower spike 29 to 39 feet tall. After circa thirty years, the plant will be only in bloom once and then will die. The genus is named after the Italian naturalist Antonio Raimondi. Polarizing filter. Pouvant atteindre 12 mètres de haut, c'est la plus grande bromeliacée existante. La plante ne fleurira qu'une seule fois après une trentaine d'années, produira près de dix-huit mille fleurs qui donneront quelques six millions de graines, puis mourra. Elle tire son nom du naturaliste italien Antonio Raimondi. Filtre polarisant.
