A rare photograph of three named Ranger Guides Circa 1900 , From Whitby, North Yorkshire, who had gained the  (original) Duke of Edinburgh's award for girls. -   Alfred Ernest Albert (1844 – 1900) reigned as Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha from 1893 to 1900. He was the second son (fourth child) of Britain's Queen Victoria  and was named Duke of Edinburgh during  the Queen's Birthday Honours on 24 May 1866. Pictured (l to r) are  Miss Isabel Harker (never married), Gertie Pennock (later Mrs Edwin Todd) & Amy Smith (later Mrs G Heselton). The relevance of the costumes is unknown.
