New Military Barracks in the Kingston and Arthur’s Vale Historic Area, one of the eleven sites making up the Australian Convict Sites World Heritage Property. The building, completed in 1837, now houses the island’s administration offices. Two cannons flanking the entrance stairs are from the First Fleet flagship ’Sirius’ that sank off the island in 1790.
