Returning to Uniontown he enter-ed the employ of the Johnson Machine Com-pany with which firm he continued as plum-ber and gas-fitter for seven years. Follow-ing this, he for a time continued his tradewith Denny Brothers of Uniontown. InOctober, 1896, he became superintendent ofthe lines of the Fayette Gas Fuel Company, , with which corporation he remained untilJuly t8, 1899. He is now engaged in thelife insurance business representing thePrudential of Newark, New Jersey. OnFebruary 18, 1898, Mr. Coffman in the courseof his work in regulating the gas supply atthe reducing station on South ^It. ernonavenue, was the victim of a gas explosionwhich imperiled his life, and badly burnedboth hands.
