NAHA, Japan - Photo taken from a Kyodo News plane shows the Japan Coast Guard patrol vessel Yonakuni (front) and the Chinese maritime surveillance vessel Haijian 137 sailing in parallel in waters 38 kilometers north of Uotsuri Island, part of the Japan-controlled Senkaku Islands, claimed by China, in the East China Sea at 5:40 p.m. on Jan. 21, 2013. A total of three Chinese maritime surveillance vessels entered Japanese territorial waters near the Senkaku Islands earlier in the day, leading the Japanese Foreign Ministry to lodge a protest with the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo.
