May 9, 2020, Munich, Bavaria, Germany: Covid 1984 slogans referring to the Orwell book. Despite ongoing relaxing measures, a “Querfront” (cross-front) mixture of 3,000 conspiracy theorists, QAnon followers, right-extremists, AfD figures, neonazis, hooligans, and Widerstand2020 assembled for a third weekend in Munich’s city center, primarily at Marienplatz, to demonstrate for restoration of the Grundgesetz amid the Coronavirus crisis. Such demos and daily mini-demos with an overwhelming 2015-2016 Pegida quality are being staged throughout Germany, with two attacks on journalists for ARD and ZDF having taken place. Internally, members of the official Munich chat group have been planning attacks on journalists for the past week, with many of the more active members coming from right-extremist and neonazi circles and designating all journalists as “antifa”. The posting of right-wing and Reichsbuerger memes is also commonplace, with acceptance from the administrator. (Credit Image: © Sachelle Babbar/ZUMA Wire)
