The Slovenian museum train is a hundred-year-old train composition that carried passangers as early as in the times of Austro-Hungarian Empire when the Bohinj railway line (Transalpina) was built as part of a railway connection to Prague and the fastest connection between the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Adriatic sea in Trieste. The Bohinj railway line was completed in 1906 when it was inaugurated by the the heir to the throne of Austro-Hungarian Empire the Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Today, the line that passes the Julian Alps is stil active and on specified dates the museum train now serves as a tourist attraction that offers tours on the Transalpina. The tour includes a reenactment of the inauguration with actors playing the Archduke Franz Ferdinand, his mistress and a soldier who guards them.
