Mar. 31, 2012 - Works of art by an ape auctioned - Fifteen of the paintings by a five-year-old ape, Cindy Lou, who has been painting multi-coloured splodges for a year at the Dudley Zoo, Worcester, were sold at an auction. The auction was conducted by Birmingham auctioneer, Mr. Brian Davies. None of the first 10 lots reached the £2 mark. But then, when Lot 11 was shown, Mr. David Earle, a 30-year old surveyor, from Henley-in-Arden, Warwicks, paid £15.10s, after a brisk bout of bidding. Altogether the auction raised £39.8s.6d. for the World Wildlife Fund
