Manchester , England , 11th November 2018 Armistice Day in Manchester. Today (Sunday 11 November) marks 100 years since the end of the First World War. At 6 a.m. a lone piper plays the traditional Scottish lament, Battle O'er, outside Manchester Cathedral to herald the start of commemorations.
